Today, GPL Tax & Accounting launches our new website and blog. We have been on the web since we opened our doors four years ago, but going forward we will have a web presence that reflects our company ideals of being a “one-stop shop” that can meet any accounting or tax preparation needs our clients may have, while assisting with other areas of their financial lives. Anything from straight-forward tax preparation, to performing internal tax compliance reviews for businesses, through representing our clients before the IRS, we have the skills and resources to do the job.

If you’re meeting us for the first time, welcome!

GPL is a tax preparation and accounting firm that’s based in Bellevue, Washington. We were founded in 2010 by Virginia Goldman (E.A.), Shahar Plinner, and Effie Bar-Caspi. Over the past few years, the firm has grown to employ over 20 year-round tax specialists, bookkeepers, accountants, and administrative staffers.

How are we different? We do not go through the contraction and expansion routine that most tax firms do. We don’t hire temporary help for tax season and then run a skeleton crew for the rest of the year.

We give our clients the service and security of knowing their account is being handled consistently and thoroughly by an expert who will be available to help them and answer their concerns whenever they arise, so we make sure our staff is always available, not just during “tax season.” We give our employees the security of a year-round job with benefits, such as paid vacation and health insurance. We give our employees a stable and pleasant work environment, so our clients can expect that the professional they dealt with in March will still be here to work with them in October, and again when tax time rolls around the following year.

What to expect

Our new website is going to be an ever-growing collection of knowledge and tools to keep people informed about their taxes and so they can be more successful in their investment and business endeavors. We believe in turning our knowledge into your power, so our interactions with clients are always as transparent as possible. We want them–and now everyone–to have the ability to understand the workings of their tax returns, their financial statements, and everything else related to their money.

Whether you’re a client of GPL Tax & Accounting or not, we plan on making our website a place where you can find answers to your questions. The already-extensive Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section, based on our direct experience with our clients, will grow every week. If you can’t find an answer there, we invite you to contact us directly through the inquiry form. Our specialists are here to help.

For our clients, the website provides a simpler and more streamlined gateway through which they can interact with us. From the beginning, GPL has been a U.S.-based firm with an international focus, so we have clients in every time-zone across the globe. While we enjoy having face-to-face meetings at our Bellevue offices, for most of our clients that’s just not possible. With that in mind, we have revamped our online portal and incorporated it into the new website. It is now easier and more secure than ever for our clients to submit electronic versions of their supporting documents and other paperwork to our tax specialists. Click here to see the new system (which operates using ShareFile) and to get started with it!

As for the blog, it will be a steady outlet for news about taxes and GPL, tips you can use to improve your tax situation, and other information that can be useful in your financial life. It will be a reflection of GPL’s philosophy of giving our clients the knowledge needed to take control of their personal taxes, their business finances, and their economic futures. Articles featured here will be written by Steve Miller and other GPL team members, with contributions from some of the many partners that are part of the GPL eco-system of knowledge and information.
We hope you’ll check back often. We also hope you’ll let us know how we’re doing.
